1. "Can" – Use for Present Ability (قابلیت)

Use: To show what someone is able to do now.
Urdu: کوئی کام جو آپ ابھی کر سکتے ہیں۔

Examples:

  • I can speak English.
    (میں انگریزی بول سکتا ہوں۔)
  • She can drive a car.
    (وہ گاڑی چلا سکتی ہے۔)

2. "Could" – Use for Past Ability (ماضی کی قابلیت)

Use: To talk about what someone was able to do in the past.
Urdu: کوئی کام جو آپ ماضی میں کر سکتے تھے۔

Examples:

  • I could swim when I was five.
    (میں پانچ سال کی عمر میں تیر سکتا تھا۔)
  • He could run very fast.
    (وہ بہت تیز دوڑ سکتا تھا۔)

3. "Can" – Ask for Permission (اجازت لینا)

Use: For informal permission.

4. "Could" – Polite Request (مہذب انداز)
