Model Band 7.5–8+ Answers

Model 1: Describe a place you visited (Cue Card)

I’d like to talk about Hoi An in Vietnam, a place that truly left a lasting impression. To kick things off, I visited last year with my family during a backpacking trip through Southeast Asia. What really caught my eye was the lantern-lit streets at night — it was a real feast for the eyes, with vibrant colors reflecting on the river. The old town exudes a timeless charm, full of quaint little shops and ancient architecture that feels like stepping back in time.

Moreover, the atmosphere was incredibly peaceful away from the crowds. It fills me with a sense of nostalgia even now. Having said that, tourism has brought some challenges, like overcrowding. Ultimately, it was an unparalleled experience that taught me the invaluable lesson of appreciating cultural heritage. I’d highly recommend it!

Model 2: Describe a person who influenced you

One person who has greatly influenced me is my grandmother. She was a resilient woman with an infectious smile and unwavering optimism. What stands out is how she always went the extra mile for family, even during tough times. For instance, during my school years, she’d stay up late helping with homework, turning challenges into fun lessons. It taught me the invaluable lesson that perseverance and kindness can overcome anything. Looking back, she’s etched in my memory as a true role model.
